Terms and conditions
These terms cover membership of The 51% Club, our events, and your use of our website, www.the51percent.club. We’ve written them in plain English, because a membership should be easy to understand. By joining the Club, booking an event or using the website, you agree to them.
The 51% Club is The 51 Percent Club LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 15667794. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The 51% Club.
Membership
Who can join
Membership is open to women who are founders or leaders across all industries in the UK, and to partners and stakeholders committed to the female enterprise ecosystem.
The free community
Joining the free community costs nothing. It gives you our monthly emails, the WhatsApp community, free socials, and the option to book events as a guest. You can leave at any time by unsubscribing or leaving the group.
Grow membership
What’s included: Free monthly workshops, plus discounted and member-only events.
Price: £51 a year.
Term: Your membership runs for 12 months from the date you pay, and renews automatically each year unless you cancel.
If you joined as a Founding Member, you are now a Grow member, and your membership continues on the same terms.
Scale membership
What’s included: Scale is application only. Membership includes at least four Scale events a year, from The Power Table dinners to drive days and away days, plus introductions made by the Club. It also includes everything in Grow membership, so you don’t need to join Grow separately.
Price: £510 a year.
Term: Your membership runs for 12 months from the date you pay, and renews automatically each year unless you cancel.
Moving up from Grow: If you’re already a Grow member when you join Scale, we’ll take £51 off your first Scale year and cancel your Grow subscription, so you never pay twice. From your first renewal, Scale is £510 a year.
Where Scale runs: Scale is launching in the West Midlands, so our first events will be held there. Members from further afield are very welcome.
Payments
Membership is paid annually through Stripe. By joining, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method each year until you cancel. The 51% Club is not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Renewals and cancelling
We’ll email you before your membership renews. You can cancel at any time using the link in your payment receipt, or by emailing admin@the51percent.club. Cancelling stops your next renewal, and your paid benefits continue until the end of the year you’ve paid for. After that, you’ll stay part of our free community unless you tell us otherwise.
Refunds
Membership fees are non-refundable, except where required by law. If something has gone wrong, talk to us and we’ll always look at it fairly.
Price changes
We may change our membership prices from time to time. Any change applies from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it does.
Events
Booking
Some events need booking in advance. Details of how to book, any fees, and the number of places will be shown on each event page. Member events are subject to availability, so we recommend booking early.
Members unlock their member pricing and member-only events with an access code. Codes are personal to members, and sharing them with non-members is a breach of these terms.
If you can’t make it
If you can’t attend an event you’ve booked, please cancel through our booking platform, or email girlpower@the51percent.club, as soon as you can, so we can offer your place to someone else. As places are limited, repeatedly not attending without 24 hours’ notice may mean we pause your priority booking.
Changes to events
Venues, dates and speakers can occasionally change. If that happens, we’ll let you know as soon as we can. Changes to individual events don’t affect your membership fee.
Photography
We photograph many of our events and may use the images on our website and social channels. If you’d rather not be photographed, just tell us on the day. Closed-room events aren’t photographed.
In the room
Confidentiality
Valuable and sometimes sensitive information is shared in our rooms, our online community and between members. We ask every member to respect the confidentiality of anything that isn’t public, including information about other members, their business plans and their finances, and not to share it with anyone outside the Club.
Closed-room events, including The Power Table, run under the Chatham House Rule: you’re free to use what you hear, but not to share who said it.
Introductions
Introductions are made with care and with both sides’ agreement. Please treat the contacts you’re introduced to with the same respect.
How we treat each other
We ask every member to bring generosity, honesty and discretion, both in person and online. Please don’t share anything illegal, offensive, discriminatory or harassing, or use the Club or its community to sell without our agreement.
We may end a membership if a member’s behaviour goes against the spirit of the Club. If we do, we’ll explain why and refund any unused part of the year.
Our website
Using the website
Please use the website respectfully. Don’t attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or interfere with how it works.
Intellectual property
The content of the website, including text, graphics, logos, images and software, belongs to The 51% Club or its licensors, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or adapt it without our written permission.
Resources shared with members, such as templates, guides and recordings, are for your own business use. Please don’t share them with non-members.
Disclaimer
The website and its content are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the website.
The legal bits
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes
Any dispute arising from these terms will be settled by binding arbitration in Birmingham, England.
Entire agreement
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about your membership, our events and your use of the website.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post any changes here, and let members know about anything significant.
Your information
We look after your information as set out in our privacy policy.
