The 51% Club was born out of a simple, defiant realisation: when women-powered businesses thrive, the entire economy gains. We aren’t just a network; we are building the infrastructure designed to move the needle on women-led wealth, influence, and impact.

Around 20% (1 in 5) of all new company incorporations in the UK are women starting new businesses.

If women started and scaled at the same rate as men, it could add an estimated £310 billion to the UK economy.

Businesses founded by women deliver a 35% higher ROI compared with those founded by men.

Women-led businesses are less likely to hit £1 million revenue, with data suggesting we are twice as likely to stay below the £250,000 threshold.

Women-led businesses are often in lower-growth sectors compared to male-led businesses, although this is slowly changing.

Women-led businesses aren’t seeing the money flow, with only 2% of equity investment going to all-female teams, prohibiting the ability to scale.

Meet our founder

Tara Attfield-Tomes is on a mission to help more women get rich.

A PR and visibility strategist – and founder of award-winning agency EAST VILLAGE. – she is passionate about women being seen, heard, and valued.

Alongside her agency and The 51% Club, Tara is also co-chair of The Whole Point’s Birmingham Board, a UK-wide, government aligned initiative to increase funding to women-led businesses.
